FAIRFIELD, NJ–After several years in business, Dough Palace recently moved and reopened in Building 20 in their beautiful, new space. Owner, DeAnna D’Amico, has been competing in Body Building and Power Lifting for more than ten years, and she often exchanged baked goods with other competitors backstage. When people started asking if they could buy her baked goods, she decided to develop her baking - which she had always done for fun - into a business.
After graduating from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a BA and MBA, DeAnna initially went into law enforcement before transitioning into a full time entrepreneur, including owning not only Dough Palace but also Jersey Barbell Gym in Wayne where Glam Cookies are available as a post-workout treat.
In 2017, she started selling on Etsy nationwide, and a local deli started to carry her treats in their dessert case. As demand increased, she also outgrew her home-based production space and established a brick and mortar location in Fairfield. Customers came from all over the country for the grand opening of her first location.
Nowadays, DeAnna is typically at the bakery at 3 or 4am daily to start making batches of dough, and her husband, Denney, works alongside her. Everything at Dough Palace is made from scratch daily in their new location, which was designed and tailored to meet the needs of her growing business.
In addition to cookies and other treats, Dough Palace makes custom cakes for any occasion, birthdays, graduations and more!
